About me:
I grew up in Bucaramanga, Colombia and I am proud for having studied in the public schools of Colegio Jose Celestino Mutis and INEM Custodio García Rovira, and having volunteered in the Colombian Civil Defense. My dream of becoming a scientist started at the Industrial University of Santander (UIS) and materialized at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP). From those universities, I obtained a BE and an MSc in Metallurgic Engineering. I am currently a Fulbright scholar looking for a PhD position in the United States. My research experience covers different topics of Materials Science and Engineering, especially steels and alloys, additive manufacturing, powder bed fusion, and physical metallurgy.

I am passionate about microscopy and learning about advanced techniques of characterization that help people to describe materials. I also like doing knowledge transfer and participating in events that promote diversity and inclusion in STEM fields.

I love Brazil and its people, football, and culture. Among other things, I like doing sports, traveling, dancing, and learning new things.
